Jesse Harris is a Toronto-based artist and University of Guelph graduate. His message-oriented art practice functions as a personal platform to discuss free expression and it’s limits within culture. Harris sources forms, language, symbols and strategies from radical art history and associated countercultures, producing slogans and ephemera such as fanzines, posters, and buttons to disseminate them. He produces paintings, sculpture and unique art objects concerned with art discourse, do-it-yourself personal politics, sliding-scale economies and grassroots community-building. Harris has recently exhibited at Night Gallery (LA), Ed Video (Guelph), COOPER COLE (Toronto) amongst others.
